First Aid Training Courses are held at our medical Training Centre in
Sunderland or at your place of work, throughout the North East and UK
Our Trainers and Assessors are all professionals, with appropriate teaching qualifications who have had years
of experience dealing with First Aid in the real world.
Certificates are issued promptly after course completion and each delegate receives a First Aid Manual
Ofqual Regulated Level 3
This 3 day First Aid at Work course is for people intending to act as a First Aider at Work in accordance with
the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The course is designed to provide the First Aider with the skills to
deal with an emergency effectively, to give emergency life support, diagnose and treat injuries or illness,
and maintain care and comfort of the casualty with the emphasis on preventing situations from becoming worse
and maintaining life until help arrives. This course can be adapted specifically for your work place First Aid
requirements. The course can be run on non-consecutive days, for example – one day a week over three weeks,
by arrangement. Please contact us. The award is valid for 3 Years.
Ofqual Regulated Level 3
This regulated two-day First Aid at Work course is for individuals who wish to renew their First Aid at Work certificate
in order to continue to act as a workplace First Aider. Please Note: This course is only available to First Aiders who
must have previously attended a First Aid at Work course and wish to renew their certificate. The course is designed
to renew First Aider skills with up-to-date first aid procedures and techniques, so that they can continue to deal promptly
and effectively with a wide range of situations that may arise in the work environment. This course was previously known
as the HSE 2 Day First Aid at Work Requalification Course. As of 1st October 2013 the HSE will no longer Approve any
First Aid Courses. However the Health & Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981 still apply. The Award is valid for 3 years.
Ofqual Regulated Level 2
This one day course is a regulated Emergency First Aid at Work qualification suitable for persons who are required to act
as Emergency First Aider or Appointed Person in the place of work. It is also a popular option for anyone requiring basic
first aid training outside of the workplace. The course is designed to equip students with the skills to deal with an emergency
effectively, with the emphasis on preventing situations from becoming worse and maintaining life until help arrives.
This course is ideal for a lower risk businesses, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations and
includes both theory and practical sessions. The award is valid for 3 Years.
Ofqual Accredited Level 2 QAF
The 3 Hour First Aid at Work Refresher course is for people who are qualified in either Full or Emergency First Aid .
The course is designed to update and refresh the First Aider with the skills necessary to give effective life support,
diagnose and treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of the casualty. As of 1st October 2013 the HSE
will no longer Approve any First Aid Courses, however the Health & Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981 still apply
The HSE recommend that every First Aider should refresh their skills annually.
Ofqual Accredited Level 3 QCF
This Two Day paediatric course is recommended for individuals who provide a high level of care for babies and children
under 8 years old so that they can deal promptly and competently with situations that may arise when caring for children
and babies. This course is ideal for registered Child Minders in England and Wales as they are required to have a Paediatric
First Aid certificate, including parents, nannies, au pairs, nursery workers, playgroup leaders and anybody who deals with
children and wants a more in-depth course. This course may also be used as evidence for those working towards an NVQ in
Child Care and Education (level 3) The course syllabus has been designed in accordance with the UK resuscitation guidelines
(2005) and meets Ofsted requirements. This Paediatric First Aid course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early
Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School staff (dealing with Foundation Stage)
The training is consistent with guidance set out in the ‘Practice Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage
(Appendix 1 page 23). under 8 years old. The course syllabus has been designed in accordance with the UK resuscitation
guidelines (2010) The award is valid for 3 years
Ofqual Accredited Level 3
This is a one day Emergency Paediatric First Aid Training course which has been designed specifically for those who provide
care for babies and children under 8 years old, Parents and Child Carers. It is designed for people who have a professional
involvement with children and babies but don’t have to comply with Ofsted requirements. The course covers basic life saving
and first aid for babies, children and adults and how to take charge in the event of an accident or illness.The course syllabus
has been designed in accordance with the UK resuscitation guidelines (2005) and meets Ofsted requirements.The award is
valid for 3 years
Ofqual Accredited Level 2 QCF
The 2 Day course is designed for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to
provide First Aid when dealing with an emergency situation whilst undertaking activities, such as sports, swimming, hiking, rock
climbing. The aim of the qualification is to enable Learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with a
range of emergency first aid situations. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt,
effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of the first aider. This qualification, and the learning
outcomes covered thereby, are based on the recommendations of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the Skills for Health
Assessment Principles for First Aid Qualifications. QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (QCF) is registered on the
Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) regulated by Ofqual.
Ofqual Accredited Level 2 QCF
Defibrillation is the only way to re start a heart in cardiac arrest. Use of a defib in emergency situations is not only for people
who have access to a defibrillator, it is also for those who don’t. We cover AED in our First Aid courses, however, we recommend
this more in depth course (4hrs) which covers the core competencies of the UK Resuscitation Council and is designed to instruct
the students in the use of an AED The student will be able to identify the need for and perform effective CPR to Resuscitation
Council (UK) standards. and able to identify the need for AED use and the safety measures needed when in use. Defibrillators
are very simple to operate and no previous training is required to attend this course.
